Activity: River and Stream Clean-ups

Geographic location: Illinois River in Greene and Jersey Counties, Illinois; Mississippi River in Madison County, Illinois; Horseshoe Lake in Madison County, Illinois; creeks in 30 municipalities in Madison County, Illinois

Brief activity description: We sponsor several stream, creek, and river clean-ups to get citizens interested in their environment, make a difference in that section of waterway, and to educate the masses about simple steps they can take to help their waterway.

Projected outcomes/impacts, if known: Educate citizens and businesses on the impacts of litter in our waterways; improve communications between watersheds; implement part of the Phase II Stormwater Plan for Madison County
